Happy New Year dramaland!
The blog is one year old today, and I must say it’s been a pleasure to be a part of the K-drama blogosphere. I want to thank everyone who stopped by and read my recaps and posts, and I’d also like to thank all of the K-drama bloggers and viewers I met through the blog for being so awesome!
So as you all may have noticed, I completely fell off my blogging and recap schedule in the fall. I’ve tried to keep RL separate from my dramaland life, but RL just took over everything in the fall. It started with one sick kid, and then for two months my house was like the infectious disease headquarters as colds and viruses spread from one kid to the other kid then to me then back to the kids. After that there were two back-to-back out-of-town trips and then the holidays arrived, and there was just no way for me to catch up.
Case in point: there was not a single holiday decoration up and my kids had no Christmas presents until December 23. I woke up that morning and threw the tree up, but never got around to putting any ornaments on it (I pretended I was going for the minimalist look). Then I went on a mad dash to the shops to find a few things. The good thing about waiting until almost the last minute was it really clarified things for the family. We decided to keep gift giving simple. The kids got one thing from mom, one thing from dad, and one thing from Santa–under a plain tree, lol. They were a little bewildered when they woke up, but I think we’re going to do this three gift limit every year now!
But now that the holidays are over, I’m gearing up to get back to blogging. I had two fears when I decided to start this blog–not being able to complete the recaps for a series and not being able to update the blog at least once a week (even though my goal was to publish posts at least twice a week). And basically both of those things happened this year: I couldn’t finish recaps for Yong-pal and I went about three months without posting anything. I did manage to occasionally update the Find-a-Recap page, so I guess it wasn’t a total loss.
I’d still like to finish the recaps for Yong-pal, but there are so many other sites with complete recaps that I think it’d be a more efficient use of my time to just move on to another series. But either way, I’m going to try to stay on track this year. I will start with once a week recaps because that’s probably all I can handle now, and I’ll see where the year takes me from there.
Thanks again for stopping by the blog. I hope you all enjoyed the recaps as much as I enjoyed watching the series and writing about them. As always, feel free to let me know if there are any classic dramas you’d like to see on the site.
Until next time,
New Year. New Blog!
